Why this salt spreader saves time
Spreading salt, grit, fertiliser or seed by hand is slow and uneven. A powered spreader puts down a consistent pattern across driveways, yards, paddocks and large lawns in a single pass, so you use less material and get a better result.
It’s built for use with ATVs, UTVs and compact vehicles on private land, and it’s simple to set up, calibrate and clean down after use.
Use it for
- Gritting yards, car parks and private roads in winter
- Fertilising paddocks, sports fields and large lawns
- Spreading grass seed
- Pellets and other dry, free-flowing materials

Care and maintenance
Always wash the spreader down after use, especially after salt, as it’s corrosive. Store it dry, check the spinner and gate move freely before each season and keep electrical connections clean.
For gritting, timing matters: spread before frost or snow is forecast rather than after. The Met Office forecast is a good guide to when to put salt down.

Salt spreader FAQs
What materials can the salt spreader spread?
Dry, free-flowing materials such as rock salt, grit, granular fertiliser and grass seed.
How do I clean the salt spreader?
Empty it, rinse with fresh water and let it dry fully. This is especially important after spreading salt.
Can I collect it?
Yes. Collection from our Bromsgrove yard is free.
Getting an even spread
Calibrate the spreader for each material, as salt, seed and fertiliser flow at different rates. Drive at a steady speed, overlap passes slightly and avoid spreading in strong winds. Always wash the unit down afterwards, especially after salt.
