Why the Erde trailer is so popular
Erde trailers have been a common sight on British driveways for years, and for good reason. They’re light, compact, easy to push around by hand and simple to store against a wall. The tipping body lets you empty garden waste or soil without shovelling, and the rear drop access makes loading easier.
They’re a sensible first trailer for tip runs, garden jobs and DIY projects, and they’ll tow behind almost any car with a tow bar.
Handy for
- Tip runs and garden waste
- Carrying soil, bark and compost bags
- Moving furniture and boxes
- Camping kit for short trips

Assembly, storage and care
Flat pack versions arrive ready for home assembly with basic tools, while fully assembled versions are ready to tow. Store the trailer upright or under cover if you can, check tyre pressures before each trip and keep the hitch greased. The GOV.UK guide to towing with a car explains the licence and weight rules.

Erde trailer FAQs
Can any car tow the Erde trailer?
Most cars with a tow bar can, as it’s a light unbraked trailer. Check your car’s unbraked towing limit to be sure.
Do you sell spare wheels for the Erde trailer?
Yes. We stock matching spare wheels and tyres for Erde 153 and 193 trailers.
Can I add a cage?
Yes. Some models come with a 600mm cage kit fitted, which adds height for bulky, light loads.
Looking after an Erde trailer
Erde trailers are simple to maintain. Check tyre pressures and lights before every trip, grease the coupling head now and then, and look over the tipping catch and hinges for wear. If the trailer stands for long periods, prop it so the tyres are not carrying weight all the time, and keep a cover on it to protect the floor.
