Description
This overland camper trailer is the AquaOverlander 85 supplied without a tent. It is a rugged, low-profile 8ft x 5ft trailer with a raised roof tent frame, so the full bed below stays clear for kayaks, paddleboards and kit. Fit the roof tent you already own.

About the AquaOverlander 85
A rugged, low-profile off-road adventure trailer designed for overlanding. Fitted with the integrated roof tent mounting frame and loaded with practical features, it’s built for durability, stability, and comfort on extended journeys. The roof tent mounts on a raised frame, leaving the full load bed below clear to store kayaks, paddleboards and other outdoor equipment.
Adjustable roof-tent frame: the external frame adjusts length-ways, so it fits a wide range of roof tents — not just one brand.

Why a overland camper trailer works so well
Putting the tent on the trailer rather than the car keeps your vehicle free once you’ve set up camp. You park, unhitch, open the tent and you’re done. Below the tent is a secure box for the bulky stuff: cool box, stove, chairs and wet gear. It also means the car doesn’t need roof bars rated for a tent and two adults.
The external roof-tent frame on Apache campers is adjustable lengthways, so it suits a wide range of roof tents, not just one brand. The body sits on a galvanised steel chassis with a phenolic-topped steel floor, and it’s all built to be towed by an ordinary family car.
Great for
- Weekend camping and festivals
- Touring holidays where you move every few days
- Wild camping trips and overland routes on good tracks
- Families who want the car free once they arrive

Spare wheels and wheel brackets are available for every overland camper trailer we build.
Choosing your camper setup
Think about how many people are sleeping, how much kit you carry and what your car can tow. Smaller bodies are easier to manoeuvre and store at home; larger bodies swallow more kit. If you already own a roof tent, the without-tent version lets you fit your own. The GOV.UK guide to towing with a car sets out licence and weight rules, and our team can help you match the trailer to your car.

Overland camper trailer FAQs
Can I fit my own roof tent to this overland camper trailer?
Yes. The frame adjusts lengthways to suit a wide range of roof tents. Tell us which tent you have and we’ll confirm the fit.
How tall is the overland camper trailer when towing?
The external heights with and without the tent are listed in the specifications above. Check them against your garage or driveway gate.
Is the storage box lockable?
Yes. The rear opening can be secured, and we recommend a hitch lock and wheel clamp when you’re on site.
